As a new employee you are encouraged to familiarise yourself with the
ANU Enterprise Agreement of 2005 – 2009, and

Payslips, leave balances and personal development courses are available via an interactive web application called
HORUS. You can also apply for leave and personal development courses via HORUS.
To introduce you to the University community, you will be invited to attend a
welcome to new staff function, hosted by the Vice Chancellor, as well as the formal ANU Induction. This program includes a guided tour of the campus (by bus) as well as various guest speakers. Induction is a structured and supportive method of introducing a new staff member to their role, their work area and the University.
Supervisors at the ANU play a vital role in welcoming and introducing new staff to the workplace and providing the necessary information and support. An
Induction Guide has been developed to assist Supervisors with this process. The Induction Checklist should be completed by the Supervisor and given to the local HR area, or business manager.
If you would like additional information, your local HR staff can provide you with support and guidance in relation to induction, and we encourage you to
contact us in person, by phone or by email.
Recognition of prior service applications are considered from other Australian University’s for long service and sick leave purposes.
We welcome you to Science@ANU and hope that you will have a rewarding time contributing to the University community.
