Fenner School Director's Honours Scholarship

Awarded twice yearly
Value of Scholarship: $2500. Awarded to a student enrolled in Honours in the Fenner School of Environment and Society twice a year - Semester 1, by end October, Semester 2, by end May.
Criteria: entry into one of the Fenner School Honours programs and identified supervisor, academic record, and the innovation of the topic within the domain of environment and society. Applicants must describe their intended research, and how award of the scholarship would help to enable their research, whether that be income support, field costs, materials, or other requirements, or a combination of these.
Requirements: Application in writing, of no more than one page, to the Fenner School Honours convenor (fennerschool-hpc@anu.edu.au). The award will be made by the Fenner School Executive on the recommendation of the Assistant Director (Education) and the Honours Convener.
This Scholarship is available twice a year at the start of semester 1 and semester 2.

ACTION Trust Honours Scholarships

Two scholarships of $A5,000 each are available for one year to full-time students enrolled in a course of study leading to the award of the Degree of Bachelor with Honours in a field offered by the Fenner School of Environment and Society or the Earth Environment program in the Research School of Earth Sciences.
Applications are due by 31 March and are open to students in either the Semester 1 intake of the current year or the Semester 2 intake of the previous year.
Requirements: Applicants must be enrolled in the degree of Bachelor with Honours in a field offered by the Fenner School of Environment and Society or the Earth Environment program in the Research School of Earth Sciences.

ANU Honours Year Scholarships

The University offers up to 15 ANU Honours Year scholarships each year. In 2010 each scholarship will be worth $5,000.
Subject to the approval of the University Awards Committee an ANU Honours Year Scholarship may be held concurrently with other scholarships and awards. It is advisable that you contact Centrelink to establish if an ANU Honours Scholarship can be held without affecting your Youth Allowance or other benefit.
Requirements: You should be intending to enrol full-time at this University in the Honours Year of a program of study leading to the award of the degree of Bachelor with Honours OR in the final year of a program of study leading to the award of the degree of Bachelor with Honours where the honours component is an integral part of the final year.
It is essential that you contact the School where you are proposing to undertake Honours to establish that you have or will have the academic qualifications for entry into Honours and that the required resources will be available to you.
It is acknowledged that at this stage your acceptance into Honours may not yet be finalised. You do not need to wait for results before lodging an application. If you lodge an application and later become ineligible for Honours your application will be disregarded.
With the approval of the relevant School, you may commence the Honours Program in either first or second semester.

ARC Centre of Excellence in Vision Science Scholarship
$6,000 plus up to $4,000 relocation allowance

The ANU node of the Centre is offering scholarships to honours students. The stipend will be $6,000 plus up to $4,000 relocation allowance for students relocating from other states. Students are encouraged to discuss research opportunities with the relevant Chief Investigator at the Centre. Details of research projects and contact information of Chief Investigators in the Centre can be found on the Centre website.
Requirements: The applicant must be enrolled in an honours program at ANU, must be supervised by one of a Centre’s Chief Investigators, and must be working on a Centre related research project. |

Alexander McTaggart Memorial Scholarship

A scholarship of $6,000 is available to assist a student, enrolled in the fourth year of a Bachelor degree with Honours program who is undertaking the course in a medical science field related to cancer research and is supervised at the John Curtin School of Medical Research. A relocation allowance of up to $4,000 is available for scholarship holders recruited from outside the ACT region. The scholarship is named in memory of Alexander McTaggart and is funded by the interest from donations from Mrs Elizabeth McTaggart and support from the ANU Endowment Fund.

Angus Nicholson Honours Scholarship in Science

A scholarship of $5,000 for a student who can demonstrate academic merit and a passion for his or her chosen field of science.

Anjeli Nathan Memorial Scholarship

A scholarship of $5,000 for an applicant accepted to study behavioural ecology or conservation biology as part of the Honours Program in Botany and Zoology. The scholarship may be used to assist the student either to undertake the Honours Program or to gain fieldwork experience after the successful completion of the degree with Honours.
The Scholarship commemorates the life of Anjeli Nathan, a brilliant student who, tragically, was killed doing the field research she loved. See the BoZo website for more information.

Requirements: The scholarship shall be awarded on the basis of academic merit and on a written proposal by applicants who are completing their third year, or are within twelve months of having completed the degree with honours in Botany and Zoology. Leonard Broom Scholarship

These scholarships were established by the University from funds endowed by Emeritus Professor Leonard Broom to support programs at the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health to serve Indigenous Australians. One or more may be awarded each year.
The Scholarships are intended to enable Indigenous Australian students to undertake a program of study in an area related to NCEPH's research. Each scholarship will be up to the value of $5,000. There will be an additional allowance of up to $4,500 for reimbursement of travel and fieldwork expenses, if required.

National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health Honours Scholarships

The National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health (NCEPH) awards a number of scholarships each year known as an NCEPH Honours Scholarship. The scholarship program is conducted jointly by arrangement between the NCEPH and the College of Arts and Social Sciences, College of Business and Economics, the College of Medicine, Biology & Environment and the College of Physical Sciences. Each scholarship is worth $5,000. There is an additional relocation allowance of $4,500 for those successful applicants who have transferred their enrolment to this University for the Honours Year.

Reginald Kitchin Scholarship

The scholarship has been established through the generous support of the ACT Musculoskeletal and Orthopaedic Research Foundation.
The scholarship will be offered for research in a field or discipline relevant to musculoskeletal or orthopaedic disease and/or trauma.
Eligible applicants must be:
(i) Enrolled or intending to enroll in the Honours year of a program leading to the award of a degree of Bachelor with Honours, at the Australian National University;
(ii) Enrolled in the Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) Program at the ANU Medical School
If no student is available or suitable for the standard award of the scholarship, the scholarship may be awarded to an individual who is enrolled in a program of study leading to the award of a research Masters (MPhil) or Doctorate (PhD) at the ANU.
Requirements: The scholarship shall be tenable for a maximum of two consecutive academic semesters beginning in the semester in which the Honours Program, relevant year of the MBBS or higher research degree is commenced, unless otherwise determined by the Dean of Medicine and Health Sciences.
